An overview of solar passive design and sustainable living principles and how they’ve been applied in reality at Katanning EcoHouse.

  • Engaging the 20-Somethings in your Environment Group

Understanding what Gen Y is busy with, and how your group can build a relationship with 20-something year olds. This popular presentation is backed by a paper and has been presented at various Landcare forums around Australia.


  • Using Cloth Nappies and/or Cloth Sanitary Pads

A hands-on session looking at the modern range of cloth nappies and/or sanitary pads, including washing.

  • Reducing Your Domestic Waste

Hints, tips, facts and figures about domestic garbage and how to make simple changes at home.


  • Low Waste Shopping Tour

A guided tour around your local supermarket (pending permission from the store) learning how to make better choices in the weekly shopping to reduce

  • House Tour

A partially self-guided tour around Katanning House learning about design, materials and sustainable living. Ella or David will welcome you and answer questions as you go. Minimum group sizes apply.  The House is occasionally open to the general public, for events such as Sustainable House Day and Katanning Eco-Week.
