Because it’s real.
Taking the tour isn’t looking at pages on a website, a case-study in a book, a model in a museum or a hypothetical late-night conversation. Participating in the tour will give you a real taste of what living more sustainably is like – the whole kit and kaboodle. You can see it, hear it, touch it, smell it, taste it (well, maybe don’t taste the house… that’s weird). You can have real conversations with real people who are really doing it.
I may be biased, but I’d say coming along is a must for anyone thinking of building or renovating, for anyone concerned about their environmental footprint, anyone who is at all cynical about living green, anyone who loves watching “Grand Designs” and for anyone who likes to be inspired.
You can book in for the 10.00am or 1.30pm tour, each taking about 1.5hrs. We’ll lay it all out for you – house plans, photos of the entire construction process, even open up the power system. You’ll firstly hear directly from us as builders and as residents, then you can wander through every room and the garden reading the information cards at your pace. We’ll also take the opportunity to learn from each other on the tour (cos we’re always keen to hear other peoples ideas too!).
As part of the Great Southern Sustainable Living Festival, we’re offering the tour at a discounted price – just $10 per adult and $5 for kids over 10 – cheaper than if you book a specific tour of your own.
We hope to see you here – Sunday the 26th of March 2017. Tours are at 10am and 1.30pm, each lasting one and a half hours.
Tickets can be pre-booked by contacting us, or purchased on the day (please arrive 10 mins early for your chosen tour time).
